Elizabeth Allen
Elizabeth Allen is the editorial assistant in Vera’s communications and external affairs department. In her role, she supports the editorial team’s efforts to shift narratives about incarceration, draw attention to critical criminal legal system issues, and highlight the Institute’s work.
Elizabeth graduated from Bryn Mawr College in 2022, where much of her scholarship grappled with themes of historical revisionism, mythology, and collective memory, particularly in K–12 social studies curricula. Her studies, internships, and praxis experiences, too, illuminated the connections between education access, poverty, and legal system interaction. She also worked as a peer tutor at the college’s Writing Center and served as features editor at The Bi-College News, Bryn Mawr and Haverford College’s joint newspaper.
Elizabeth holds a BA in history with a minor in educational studies from Bryn Mawr College.
