Police-Community Relations A Survey Among New York City Patrolmen

Overview

Vera and the NYPD commissioned the Opinion Research Corporation to evaluate New York City patrolmen's perceptions of the attitudes towards the police and law enforcement of the people with whom the officers have the most daily contact. The study surveyed 1,369 patrolmen, and its goal was to assess present police-community relations programs and to lay the groundwork for future efforts to solve complex police-citizen problems.
