A Preliminary Study of the Operations of the Juvenile Term of the Family Court, New York County

Overview

This 1968 Vera report is concerned primarily with the handling of juvenile delinquency cases in New York County. It was intended to be used as background information for a proposal to station legal officers in the Juvenile Term to handle the preparation and presentation of all delinquency, PINS and neglect cases, and attempts to work from a framework which can be used to study the New York County juvenile justice system more generally.
