SEE JUSTICE is a Vera speaker series that aims to illuminate a vision of our justice system that respects the dignity of every person and safeguards justice for everyone.
The series features visionaries who not only share this goal but whose work is making it real in the lives of people across our country.
Among the topics: We will hear about building a shared narrative on justice system reform that uses values, framing, and messaging to move key audiences. We will see how art fuels a connection between people and communities disproportionately caught up in the criminal justice system, and the police who are tasked with protecting them. And we will learn about how one state is blazing the trail for a 21st century system based on dignity—proving the possibilities.
The series kicks off on February 5th with a presentation by Alan Jenkins from The Opportunity Agenda. His talk: A New American Story Toward Justice for All, will share new research on how Americans see our criminal justice and immigration systems—and what this means for how we must talk about them.
