Logan Schmidt

Logan serves as the government affairs coordinator at Vera’s Washington, DC office. In this role, he aids in the scheduling and tracking of meetings for the director and senior associate, assists in Second Chance Pell and Postsecondary Education programming efforts, and attends Hill meetings, briefings, panel discussions, and other events pertaining to the interests of the Government Affairs team. He previously served as the editorial intern for Vera on the State of Justice Reform 2018 report, in which his duties included supplemental research, citation checking, and website copy entry.

Prior to joining Vera, Logan worked as a research/teaching assistant for a college-in-prison course taught at the Washington State Penitentiary, comprised of both incarcerated students and Whitman College undergraduates. Logan holds a B.A. in Politics from Whitman College, with minors in German and Music Composition.
