Lauren Esterle

Lauren Esterle is a senior program associate in the Unaccompanied Children Program in the Center on Immigration and Justice, a national initiative to increase access to legal information and representation for unaccompanied children facing removal. Before joining Vera in January 2019, Lauren worked at the Los Angeles Asylum Office, as an asylum officer and a training officer.

Prior to that, Lauren worked as a staff attorney first at Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project, and then Immigrant Defenders Law Center. Her practice at these non-profits focused on removal defense through the National Qualified Representative Program. During her time at Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project, Lauren also provided Know Your Rights presentations and legal screenings through the Legal Orientation Program and represented unaccompanied children facing deportation. Lauren earned her JD from Georgetown University Law Center and is a member of the State Bar of California.
