Trip Eggert
Trip Eggert is the senior communications strategist for place-based work in California, Louisiana, and New York in Vera’s communications and external affairs department, where they work to raise the profile of the organization’s work at the local level.
Before joining Vera, Trip worked in communications and editorial partnerships at nonprofit news outlets including The Marshall Project, where they helped coordinate projects such as the Pulitzer Prize–winning “Mauled: When Police Dogs Are Weapons.” They have also consulted for organizations including the Brennan Center for Justice and New York Renews.
In addition to their work at Vera, Trip is a member of the Trans Journalists Association and the News Product Alliance.
Trip holds a BA in human rights and Asian and Middle Eastern cultures with a concentration in South Asian studies from Barnard College.
