Shirin Assadian

Shirin serves as the coordinator for Vera’s Research department. Before joining Vera, Shirin started her career working in professional development at an international law firm based in New York, which cultivated her interest in legal advocacy. As someone who is passionate about educational rights, she conducted qualitative research on the effects of occupation on university students in Palestine. Shirin also helped organize a books to prison project in California by responding to letters from individuals in prison with literature and legal resources. She received a BA in political science and global studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
