Sarah Minion

An outreach associate with the In Our Backyards initiative, Sarah Minion collaborates with community stakeholders to shift public consciousness surrounding the landscape of mass incarceration in the United States and meaningfully disrupt the status quo reliance on jails in so many of our cities and towns.

Prior to joining Vera, Sarah was an Avodah corps member at the Center for Court Innovation’s Red Hook Community Justice Center and Brooklyn Justice Initiatives, where she provided comprehensive case management services to people with court involvement, both pre-trial and post-plea. Sarah previously interned in the White House Office of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs during the Obama administration, where she advanced and made more accessible the President’s policy agenda by bringing to the table a broad range of policy-makers and grassroots community leaders. Sarah graduated from Oberlin College where she studied Comparative American Studies, Politics, and Gender, Sexuality and Feminist Studies.
