Sarah Derrigan

Sarah Derrigan works as a program associate with Vera’s Ending Girls’ Incarceration initiative to end the incarceration of girls and advance the freedom of gender-expansive youth nationwide. She provides administrative and project support to the initiative director and other team members.

Before joining Vera in 2021, Sarah worked in local government—most recently for Glenwood Springs, Colorado, as the assistant to the city manager and public information officer, providing her a varied skill set specific to the public sector. In that role, Sarah focused on increasing local government outreach, participation, and engagement with city residents and community-based organizations.

Sarah holds a BA in sociology from the State University of New York at Buffalo, an MS in criminal justice from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and an MPA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
