Rea Mae Gacad

Rea Mae Gacad joined Vera in 2021 as the program manager of transition for the Center on Immigration and Justice. Prior, she was a senior staff attorney with Sanctuary for Families’ Anti-Trafficking Initiative, in New York City. She has also worked at Hartford Public Library as the lead immigration counselor, representing naturalization applicants; at Catholic Charities in Boston as the LOPC attorney; and at the Political Asylum/ Immigration Representation (PAIR) Project, serving asylum-seekers and immigration detainees. Rea Mae began her career as an attorney at the Georgetown Law Fellow at Esperanza Immigrants Right Project in Los Angeles, dividing her time among the adult LOP program, youth program, NQRP, and DACA clients. Rea Mae graduated from Georgetown Law and holds a BA from Boston College. She is based out of Vera’s Los Angeles office.
