Meghan Nayak

Meghan Nayak is a senior program associate with Vera’s Reshaping Prosecution program, working with elected prosecutors across the country to end mass incarceration, address racial disparities, and make their offices more accountable. She serves as the staff lead for the Motion for Justice initiative, which provides technical assistance to prosecutors and community partners seeking to center racial equity in prosecutors’ work. Prior to joining Vera, Meghan was litigation counsel and a member of the research and policy team at Fair and Just Prosecution (FJP), working to support prosecutive leaders committed to enhancing transparency and accountability. Prior to joining FJP, Meghan served seven years as a staff attorney at the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender in Ocean County, New Jersey. Meghan received her law degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and holds an MSc from the University of Pennsylvania. She received her BA in sociology and French literature & language from New York University.
