Luis Bautista
As a program manager for the Legal Orientation Program (LOP), Luis provided support and technical assistance to nonprofit legal service providers that educate detained immigrants about their removal proceedings so that they can make informed decisions about their legal cases.
Prior to joining Vera’s Center on Immigration and Justice, Luis was an immigration staff attorney at Make the Road New York. There, he represented individuals on various forms of immigration relief, including individuals that were in removal proceedings and those applying affirmatively for humanitarian relief. Luis started his legal career as an immigration staff attorney at The Door’s Legal Services Center, where he worked directly with youth in pursuing immigration relief.
Luis is a graduate of Hunter College and the City University of New York School of Law.
