Jack W. Duran

Jack leads creative content strategy and production for Vera’s Restoring Promise Initiative—producing multimedia and story-telling projects, ranging from video, animation, photography, short form editorial pieces, digital design, print design, web design, and more, with a critical eye toward changing the mainstream narrative around justice and prison reform. As part of his role, he documents progress and stories in Restoring Promise sites and the initiative's Global Learning Exchange between American and international justice practitioners, in addition to working closely with external creative partners, to build a movement around disrupting the American prison system.

Prior to fully joining Restoring Promise, Jack was Digital Associate in Vera's Communications Department where he helped manage content and digital design for Vera’s social media accounts and provided support for digital engagement and growth efforts, including for the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation’s Safety and Justice Challenge. In that role, he also produced wide-ranging multimedia content for projects and initiatives across the entire organization. Prior to joining Vera, Jack worked at JustLeadershipUSA where he worked in operations and event planning for the organization's leadership training conferences for formerly incarcerated people and its #CLOSErikers campaign.

He holds a B.A. in International Relations and Middle East Studies from Drew University.
