Vera Institute of Justice

Edwin Lopez is the associate director of infrastructure and operations with the TechOps team in the VeraTech department. He works to strategize, plan, implement, and maintain Vera’s on-premise and cloud infrastructure and oversees the operations of the technical team. In this role, Edwin is a key participant and contributor in all major technology-related decisions and works in tight collaboration with the VeraTech Security and VeraTech project management office (PMO) teams.

Before joining Vera in 2016, Edwin worked in the education sector. He oversaw and mentored small technical teams to promote growth and pass on his passion for technology.

Edwin holds an AS in criminal justice from Essex County Community College in New Jersey and completed coursework toward a bachelor’s degree in information technology from Montclair State University. Edwin holds technical certificates from CompTIA (A+, Net+) and has completed various high-level technical courses (Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA) and constantly keeps abreast of emerging technologies.
