Cindy Reed

Cindy is responsible for reviewing and editing Vera publications and other communications, as well as acting as project manager overseeing design and production. She has worked as editor and project manager on Reimagining Prison, the For the Record evidence brief series, and the New York Immigration Family Unity Project report. She has also edited numerous Vera publications, including Past Due: Examining the Costs and Consequences of Charging for Justice in New Orleans, Out of Sight: The Growth of Jails in Rural America, and Against the Odds: Experimenting with Alternative Forms of Bail in New York City’s Criminal Courts. Before joining Vera, Cindy was a freelance writer and editor specializing in criminal justice reform, working for clients including the Laura and John Arnold Foundation, the Prisoner Reentry Institute at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and New York University’s Center on the Administration of Criminal Law. She received her bachelor’s and law degrees from the University of Minnesota.
