Celia Strumph

Celia Strumph is the operations associate for Vera’s Unlocking Potential initiative, where she makes sure that the team operates smoothly and supports the administrative work of the initiative. She is excited to contribute to the team’s goal of expanding access to high-quality postsecondary education in prison.

Celia was an active member of the Tufts Education Reentry Network, an educational reentry program for formerly incarcerated people in Boston. She also served as a teacher’s assistant for the Tufts degree program in MCI-Concord and acted as a student coordinator for the Tufts University Prison Initiative.

Celia holds a BA in American studies with a minor in child studies and human development from Tufts University. She focused on exploring how settler colonialism, racial capitalism, and the carceral state interact in the development of the U.S. criminal legal system.
