Becca DiBennardo

Becca DiBennardo is a Senior Research Associate for UCP in the Center on Immigration and Justice. Based in Vera’s Los Angeles office, she develops and leads mixed methods research in support of the Unaccompanied Children Program, a nationwide initiative to increase access to legal information and representation for unaccompanied children facing removal.

Before joining Vera, Becca completed her PhD in Sociology at UCLA, where she studied criminal systems, mental health, and sexuality. Her dissertation project examined how intersections between law, popular opinion, and medicine have shifted the regulation of sexual violence over time. She has also researched and written on experiences of discrimination among children of LGBTQ parents, the impact of Medicaid policies on contraceptive access, the health of juveniles in detention. Becca holds a PhD in Sociology from UCLA, an MPA in Health Policy from the NYU Wagner School of Public Service, and a BA in International Studies from Vassar College.
