“Why ask about family?” “Because families and other supportive people can make a positive impact as someone leaves prison and returns to the community.”

This is a conversation we often have with staff of corrections agencies who value the idea of talking about family support but don’t know where to start. For these agencies, Vera’sFamily Justice Program developed a new guide for corrections on simple concepts, tools, and techniques they can use to ask about families and help identify other positive influences.
