Program Associate, International Program
Caitlin Gokey joined Vera in 2011 to work in the International Program. She has worked extensively on the United Nations Rule of Law Indicators Project, which is a joint initiative of the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights that entails the development of rule-of-law indicators for use in post-conflict settings. In this role, she has primarily focusing on expert interviews, data analysis, and reporting. She serves as U.S. coordinator for the Altus Police Station Visitors Week funded by the UK Department for International Development. And she provides training to Chinese researchers participating in Vera’s Fellowship in Justice Research and Innovation. Caitlin also conducts research for Common Justice, a Vera demonstration project.
Prior to joining Vera, Caitlin led program design and recruitment for the U.S. Peace Corps in New York, after having served as a volunteer in Namibia for three years. During her time in the field, she specialized as a gender and development expert, collaborating with the Ministry of Education, USAID, and EngenderHealth to design HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns targeting men, boys, and orphans and vulnerable children, including impact assessment models. Caitlin received her BA in English from the University of Colorado and her MPA in international policy and nonprofit management from NYU. While at NYU, she participated in a year-long implementation project with the Asia Foundation, researching and critically assessing the sub-national decentralization process in Cambodia.
