Vera’s experts conduct research and analysis and develop policies and programs in a variety of criminal and social justice fields. Their varied knowledge, background, and experience enable Vera to address the full spectrum of national and local justice issues.
Allon joined Vera in March 2007 to work on the Academy program evaluation and the Clinical Trials Project. Later, he found himself in the Center on Sentencing and Corrections focusing his research capabilities on projects on vulnerable populations, such as foster care children, low-income households, and people involved in the criminal justice system. Previously, he worked at the Furman Center for Urban Policy and Real Estate on research examining the impact of subsidized housing on nearby property values and as a lecturer teaching master-level courses at New York University. Before immigrating to the United States, Allon served as assistant to the civil service commissioner for the prime minister’s office in Israel, leading organizational change efforts. He has published several academic articles on issues related to organizational change and administrative reforms. Allon holds a BA in economics and statistics, a MA in public policy from Tel-Aviv University, a MPhil in public administration from NYU, and a PhD. in urban policy and research methods from NYU.
