Fox 8 in New Orleans reported that the Orleans Parish Criminal District Court approved a new system that will assign cases to a courtroom at the time a crime is committed instead of months later.
"The system of vertical prosecution is regarded as a national "best practice," and was advocated by the d-as office, the public defender's office, Vera institute and Metropolitan Crime Commission."
