Peggy McGarry, director of Vera's Center on Sentencing and Corrections, told a group of judges, state legislators, and corrections officials that states are increasingly more willing to repeal mandatory minimum sentences for drug offenses. The meeting was organized by the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices.
