Throughout 2007, Vera translated various Legal Orientation Program (LOP) materials into Arabic, French, Korean, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese/Mandarin, and Vietnamese. Legal Rights Presentation

The legal rights presentation serves as a basic introduction to the immigration court process. Using a question and answer format, it covers topics such as your rights in immigration court, what will happen during hearings, and the various forms of relief from removal. This section includes a written script for the legal rights presentation and an accompanying worksheet in Arabic, English, French, Korean, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese/Mandarin, and Vietnamese. For the Arabic, French, Simplified Chinese/Mandarin, and Vietnamese versions, we also include audio presentations in MP3 format.

How to Apply for Asylum and/or Withholding of Removal

This booklet—originally prepared by the Florence Immigrant & Refugee Rights Project—is designed to help people who might qualify for asylum, withholding of removal, or protection under the Convention against Torture understand these forms of relief and immigration court processes. People who have been detained can use this information to prepare their cases, whether they are representing themselves pro se or they have an attorney or accredited representative.
