How You Can Support Vera

Private support from individuals, foundations, law firms, corporations, and others plays a critical role at Vera. Your contributions help us address emerging justice issues, communicate the results of our work, and translate research into action. Private philanthropy also helps us make important investments in staff and infrastructure to keep Vera a high-performing, entrepreneurial nonprofit institution.

There are a number of ways you can contribute to Vera:

Support Our Annual Fund

Make a one-time or recurring gift to the Burke Marshall Annual Fund—by mail or online. The annual fund is named for founding board chair Burke Marshall, who oversaw the Justice Department's civil rights division in the Kennedy and Johnson administrations. A gift to the annual fund provides the most flexible funding for Vera, allowing us to make investments where they are needed most. You may set up a monthly, quarterly, or annual gift to Vera through our online giving system.

Make an Unrestricted Foundation Gift

Pledge a general support grant through a donor-advised fund or family foundation.

Help Advance Program and Research Innovation

Double your contribution by supporting Vera’s “Opportunity Fund.” Thanks to the JEHT Foundation, a longtime philanthropic partner, we have the opportunity to build an ongoing resource pool to support investment in research and development at Vera. JEHT will match gifts of general support up to $500,000 through a generous challenge grant.

Sponsor Our Annual Benefit Event

Sponsor Vera’s September 2009 annual benefit through your law firm or company. To see a list of firms that sponsored the 2008 event visit recent events.
